    • A “wheel‐thrown planter” class where you’ll throw a planter and a dish on the wheel. (Artime Barro)

    • Ongoing membership classes for adults (and kids/teens) where you attend multiple sessions per month to build skills. (Artime Barro)

    • Workshops (special themed or wellness‐fusion, such as Kintsugi, mosaic revival, sensory clay). (Artime Barro)

  • Answer: No prior experience is required for our one-time classes or many of our workshops. We welcome beginners who want to try hand building or wheel throwing. Our ongoing classes also cater to beginners through intermediate skill levels. (Artime Barro)

  • Answer: You can book online (our scheduling platform is via the “Book Class” link). (artimebarro.as.me) We have multiple locations (Laguna Beach, Costa Mesa, Santa Monica) so you can select the location that works best for you. You can also go straight to our website and book by location (Artime Barro).

  • Answer: Typically, one-time classes are about one hour long (at some locations) and include materials, instruction, making 1-2 pieces (depending on class) and glazing/firing of the pieces (or option to return to glaze). For example: adults one-time class: two pieces, basic wheel and hand-build, then glaze later. (Artime Barro)

  • Answer: After your class, pieces will be bisque fired, glazed (either by you or by the studio depending on class) and then fired again. For example, in the wheel-thrown planter class you’ll choose your glaze color before you leave and pick up the glazed piece about 4 weeks later. You will receive an email when your item is ready to be picked up. (Artime Barro)

  • Answer: Yes — we offer kids & teen classes (and family friendly classes) designed to nurture creativity and tactile play in younger students. (Artime Barro)

  • Answer: Open Studio is our monthly access membership for independent artists who are comfortable working on their own and need space, tools, wheels, kilns etc. The membership fee includes use of equipment, space, bisque firing; clay is sold on-site (or you may bring your own clay if it conforms to our requirements). Firing of glazes may not be included. (Artime Barro)

  • Answer: Yes — we provide kiln services for artists. For instance: half-shelf rentals and full kiln firings are offered, with certain rules (clay/glaze specs, time frames, removal of fired work, etc.). (Artime Barro)

  • Answer: You’ll want to dress in comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting a little messy, since pottery work can involve clay splatter, wheel work, hand building. Arrive a bit early (15 minutes suggested) for check-in, and keep in mind parking or traffic depending on location. We recommend having shorter nails and no hand jewelry to avoid getting items full of clay since you will be working with your hands. (Artime Barro)

  • Answer: Classes sizes depend on the specific class and workshop being hosted but they are typically on the smaller side. Our ongoing classes and workshops are limited to ensure personal attention. For group bookings (birthdays, corporate events, private parties) you can inquire about private class options at one of our studios. (Artime Barro)
