We are a family owned professional studio specialized in teaching fine art in many mediums.

Our Studios, Our Story

ARTime BARRO is a family-run ceramic studio with locations in Laguna Beach, Costa Mesa, and Santa Monica. Each space is a little different, yet all feel like an extension of home—sunlight filtering through high windows, shelves lined with textured clay pieces, quiet music playing while hands work at the wheel or table. We’ve designed each studio to reflect its environment.

LAGUNA BEACH

Captures the ease of the coast, with ocean air drifting through open doors and a sense of calm that encourages slow, meditative work in community.

COSTA MESA

is a creative hub where locals or groups for workshops and private events can try their hand at something new.

SANTA MONICA

Brings a refined warmth, where organic textures and bright light through tall windows create a space to focus and get lost in the rhythm of making.

What We Offer

ARTime BARRO is open to everyone—whether it’s your first time touching clay or you're years into your ceramic practice.

Our Awaken Experiences:

Awaken is ARTime BARRO's collection of beginner, one-hour, and one-time pottery experiences designed to introduce you to the potter's wheel and hand building through the creation of everyday ceramic vessels. The Intro to Clay Class - Adult & Kids

During this one hour intro class you will get the chance to learn the basics of wheel throwing and hand building ceramics. Additionally you will get to build two pieces and glaze them upon your second visit.

This one-time wheel throwing experience is the perfect introduction to the pottery wheel. In just one hour, you'll learn the basics of throwing on the pottery wheel while creating your own ceramic bowl and matching dish or plate.

During this one hour intro class you will get the chance to learn the basics of wheel throwing ceramics while creating your own cup and bowl.

Grasp is ARTime BARRO's collection of ongoing classes for adults; perfect for all levels: beginner, intermediate, advanced. They are designed as a monthly membership consisting of four classes a month, which can be scheduled and managed with our self-service class manager. Select between the hand building ongoing membership or the wheel ongoing membership.

Each class moves at the student's pace and is unique to each learning experience. The membership is not transferable between locations, so it is essential to ensure the proper studio is selected once signing up for the ongoing pottery classes. Each studio has its schedule, visible for review before purchase.

Our workshops are one-of-a-kind creative experiences (hand building or on the wheel) designed to bring people together through art, clay, and mindful making. From pottery and Kintsugi to pottery painting, wellness, and special collaborations with local artists, each workshop offers something new to explore. Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced maker, come slow down, learn something new, and leave with a piece and an experience that’s uniquely yours.

A relaxed, self-paced environment for those who want to practice outside of class, work on independent projects, or reconnect with their creative rhythm.

We also offer private classes for team bondings, birthdays, bachelorettes, and any celebration really!

Every offering is rooted in our belief that clay is for everyone. We keep our classes small so we can give personal attention, and we design each experience to feel grounded, unpretentious, and welcoming. You don’t need to be “artistic” or know what you’re doing—you just need to show up.

Nicole

I'm Nicole, founder of ARTime BARRO, an artist by nurture and nature that came to clay for its unique ability to channel presence and meditation through creation. I’ve always loved the way clay responds to energy, touch, and intention. It’s a material that teaches care, patience and detachment. My mom, Gabriela, was the main force behind my nurturing and love for art and my inspiration for what it means to start something of your own through passion. She is so much of this dream as well— teaching me what it means to have a creative spirit, helping support the vision, and bringing her own touch and warmth to everything we do.

We’ve built something that’s more than a studio. It’s a community space where people of all backgrounds and ages come to unwind, experiment, connect, and feel good. We’re proud to have created a place where people return, not just to make but to feel at home.
